Five centuries of colonization produced a ranking system that decides who the world economy protects and who it extracts from. The colony as product has, for the most part, been retired as a legal entity, but the processes that produced colonies never stopped. They were reorganized into a global neo/extra-colonial system of unequal trade and mobility, and that system's present-day operation is the regime of global apartheid and planetary ecocide.
